The Australian U23 squad has secured its place in the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2024 after a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Qatar in their final Group B match.
The draw was enough to see Australia finish top of the group, ahead of Qatar on goal difference. The AFC U23 Asian Cup doubles as the region's qualifying tournament for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
The 20-year-old struck in the sixth minute of extra time to seal a 2-1 win in the third-place playoff of the AFC U23. The draw for the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2024 qualifiers saw 43 teams divided into 11 groups - 10 groups of four and one group of three.
Australia was drawn into Group B alongside Qatar, Kyrgyzstan, and Iran.
