Israeli Hostages Freed From Hamas Captivity

Eight-Month Ordeal Ends With Special Operation Rescue

Four hostages, including Israeli citizen Noa Argamani, were rescued alive from Gaza on Friday, eight months after they were taken captive.

The rescue operation was carried out in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza by Israel's military. The military said the hostages were in "good condition" and were being debriefed and reunited with their families.

Noa Argamani, 25, was abducted by Hamas during the Reim music festival massacre on October 7, 2023. Three other hostages were also rescued: Alon Govberg and Shahar Mizrahi, both 21, and Hadar Goldin, 23.

Hamas released a voice recording of Argamani on Friday, in which she said she was being held in a "dark and cold" place and that she was "very scared." The recording was released as part of an effort by Hamas to pressure Israel to release Palestinian prisoners.

The rescue operation was praised by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who said it was a "great victory for Israel." The United States also praised the rescue, with President Joe Biden saying it was a "testament to the skill and courage of the Israeli military."
