Early Life and Career
Charles Cobb Blackmon, born on July 1, 1986, is an American professional baseball outfielder and designated hitter for the Colorado Rockies of Major League Baseball (MLB).
As a child, Blackmon excelled in multiple sports, including football, basketball, and baseball. He attended Sprayberry High School in Marietta, Georgia, where he played baseball and was named an All-State selection.
After high school, Blackmon attended Georgia Tech, where he played college baseball for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Primarily a pitcher in college, he also showcased his versatility as a hitter, batting .313 with 16 home runs in his junior season.
MLB Career
