Man dies after serious assault in upmarket town as man, 38, arrested over ‘murder’ on ‘busy street’ near popular restaurants
Corey Dobbe, 33, suffered ‘serious injuries’ during an altercation outside Yates just off Market Place in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, at around 12.30am on Sunday, July 17.
Police and paramedics were called to the scene and Corey was taken to hospital where he later died.
Tributes have poured in for Corey, who was described as a ‘lovely lad’ who ‘always had a smile on his face.’
A 38-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder remains in custody and is due to appear in court later today.
Detective Inspector Cheryl Hannan, of Staffordshire Police, said: ‘This was a shocking incident which has sadly resulted in the death of a man.
‘We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to come forward.’
